Getting to Fraser Residence Menteng, Jakarta

The best mode of public transport to reach the property is either by licensed taxi or by chauffeured limousine.

  • By Taxis: Most visitors opt to travel by taxi, which are easily available. There are a multitude of taxi companies of varying degrees of dependability. All licensed taxis are on meter so be careful to check this out before you get into one.

  • By Busway: The Transjakarta Busway (known as busway or Tije in Indonesian) is modern, air-conditioned, and comfortable, with flat fare between IDR 2,000 to IDR 3,500. Operates from 05:00 to 22:00 hours daily.

  • By Car: A valid international driving license or Indonesian driving license is required. Be aware of the 3-in-1 system implemented in some of the main streets in the city: morning from 07:30 to 10:00 hours and in the afternoon from 16:30 to 19:00 hours, where there is a requirement of having a minimum of three people in a car.

  • By ‘Ojek’: ‘Ojek’ (local name for Jakarta’s motorcycle taxis) shuttles short distances down alleys and roads but will also do longer trips for a price. Agree on the fare before you set off. Insist on a helmet, and wear it properly.

  • By Train: Nearest station: Gambir Station in Central Jakarta. Except in weekends, you can generally buy a ticket just before departure. It is highly recommended to buy from the stations itself or from your nearest travel agencies.
